Ambiguity in the utopian image
Computer generated imagery and analogue photography . 2013 – 2015 | 1990

This book deals with the complex ambiguity of utopian images. Why are we fascinated by these portrayals? They are open spaces for our fantasies, dreams and wishes.

Utopia exists exclusively somewhere in between. Spatially it exists between viewer and illustration, and temporally in a short, irretrievable moment of our own perception, between past and future – between here and now, between sometime and somewhere, nowhen and nowhere.

This book closes with illustrations on the subject. There are six computer-generated illustrations accompanied by selected literature quotations and twelve analogue black-and-white photographs.

Kαιρός – Linocuts and Collages

The artworks shown in this publication deal with chance in the production of art and the unique, irretrievable moment in the own perception – Kαιρός. So go on an experimental journey of discovery with these pictures to the possibilities of spatial projection and your own perception.

Different superimpositions of iridescent colours can be perceived as different layers, interpenetrating bodies and ambivalent spaces. Different people see these spaces from many different perspectives. Their own spatial position is interpreted quite differently. This way, these works of art remain open to your own imagination.

The three images of the Kαιρός – triptych will be presented at Swiss Art Expo 2020 in Zurich from 20th-24th of August.
